Krokee: A Wopata-Designed Project

Krokee simplifies communication between graphic designers and clients, doing away with technical barriers as well as putting the customer at the heart of the collaborative process.

How It All Started

Communication ebetween the graphic designer has always been a source of misunderstanding and frustration.

Technical Barriers

Your client is not always proficient in using the tools required to view your work, and some tasks are just difficult, such as:

• decompressing ZIP files,
• opening a programme used to view JPEGs, PNGs
• making comments in technical languages with which they are not familiar (breadcrumbs, etc.)

Inefficient Communication

Every graphic designer has had those unending telephone conversations, where neither party understands the other, or useless travel only with the aim of working together visually. Such wasted time was detrimental to the graphic designer and to the customer both.

Concept

The aim of Krokee was two-fold: to do away with the technological barrier and put the client at the centre of the graphic design process.
Krokee is a Web-based service Web, and requires no special installation on the client’s part. The concept is easy:

• the graphic designer uploads his work onto Krokee.com, and sends the link (by e-mail, instant message, etc.) to his client.
• The client is redirected to a Web page containing the graphic design, where, using a palette on the right-hand side of the page, he can make comments on the deisgn itself, exactly where he wishes. The comments can be made with text, a rectangle, a circle and in the style and colour desired.
• The designer is notified by e-mail and goes to view the client’s comments.
